When We Feel Like all is Lost

Hello! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. It is almost over and the weekend will soon be here! It sure has been HOT! We should be very thankful for the rain when we get it.

A very dear friend and sister in Christ sent this to me and I thought I would share it with you! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

"The Wind and the Sea Obey Him:

Have you ever been in a really bad storm on the ocean, a river, or a lake? Have you ever felt the wind howl, the rain pound down, and the waves wash over the sides as the boat pitched and rolled violently? Have you ever felt that no matter what you ddi, you were at the mercy of the tempest? That the storm was so vast that you were as nothing in the face of it?
That's probably how the apostles felt on the Sea of Galilee that day. They had left the shore in calm weather. But suddenlt and without warning a terrible storm hit the huge lake. The tiny boat was completely at the mercy of the winds and the waves.
In a panic, the apostles woke Jesus; he was sleeping in the stern of the boat. Can you imagine their amazement, their unbelieving sense of wonder, when Jesus calmly told the storm to be still--and the wind and the waves instantly became still? No wonder the question: "Who then is this, that even the wind and sea obey him?"
Who is this? This is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, the firstborn of all Creation. This is the Word who was with God and the Word was God at the very creation of the cosmos. Read John 1:1.
Who is this? This is the Christ, the one who emptied himself of his godly powers so that he could share our lives with us, showing us the way to life abundant and life eternal in God. Read Philippians 2:5-11.
Who is this? This is the Christ, infinite in power and love; who holds us and all creation in the hollow of his hand.
Who is this? This is the Christ who lived and died and rose again into new life. He who could do this can surely control the storms on the sea--and in our lives.

This is so true. It is so awesome to know that with the snap of your fingers or in a single breath, God can change things to an amazing and unforgetful experience. He doesn't put us through difficult times to punish us. He allows things to happen to us so that we might draw closer to Him. So when the storms of life seem to difficult to bear, think of Jesus hanging on the cross, suffering for our sins. It should bring things into a better perception.

We have some exciting things happening in our church. Continue reading to find out more!

The children will be leaving for camp at White Oak Friday, June 30th and will return Sunday, July 2nd. This promises to be a fun and exciting experience for all in attendance. A $25.00 deposit is in order. Upon their return that Sunday afternoon, they will have a growth/activities presentation during the evening worship service. Don't miss out on a great blessing!

Chilren's Day Camp is from Monday, July 10th through Thursday, July 14th. Please see our youth and children's leader for more information.

There will be a Secret Power seminar for teenage girls July24-26.

Don't forget: our youth our approaching the time for the 30 hour famine. Please be in prayer for them as they take part in this life-learning experience. They will be fasting and praying for 30 hours. I admire them for taking on something like this! I pray that God will use them in a powerful way for His glory!

Congratulations is in order to one of our young ladies. She was an American Legion Auxiliary Delegate to South Carolina's Girls State and was elected to the House of Representatives! This is a major accomplishment in her life and I know that her parents must be very proud of her! Congratulations again and keep up the good work!

Our Sunday School class (Truthseekers) is getting ready for a gathering for our class next month. We are excited about this time of food and fellowship. We are hoping to make some contacts to continue building our class. If you know of anyone looking for a class to join, please let us know! We would love to have them join us!

Also, the choir is getting ready for an outing as well. This promises to be a fun time of food and fellowship as well. If you are thinking about joining the choir, now is a good time to do so. We are always happy to have new members. Remember: God said to make a joyful noise, He didn't say it had to be sung on the right note (it is helpful, but it is all for God's glory!).

That about wraps up all I have for now. I hope I didn't leave anything out. As always, please let me know of any upcoming activities, etc. that I may not be aware of. Am glad to post them!

Until next time, take care and God bless!

Love in Christ,

Tina :-)
